The pangolin is referred to as the most trafficked mammal in the world. Lisa Hywood, founded the Tikki Hywood Foundation in response to their near extinction.

Episode 18 of MUD BETWEEN YOUR TOES, is a conversation with Lisa Hywood, who founded the Tikki Hywood Foundation in 1994 in memory of her father, Tikki.

The foundation fights for lesser-known — or even lesser-loved — endangered species such as pangolin, serval, genets, bush baby, hyena and wild cat. 

Lisa reminisces about her father, and Zimbabwe, but also looks forward to the vitally important work the foundation does throughout Africa in partnership African Parks -  the world’s largest anti-poaching organisation.

David Fox was enjoying a beer on the island of Bali. After just one sip he was tapped on the shoulder by a man who identified himself as a police officer asking “do you have something on you?” He did.

In season 2, episode 16 of MUD BETWEEN YOUR TOES, CONVERSATIONS WITH DAVID FOX. On Saturday 8^th of October, 2016 journalist David Fox was enjoying a beer at the On-On Billiard Bar in Sanur, on the Indonesian island of Bali. After just one sip he was tapped on the shoulder by a man who identified himself as a police officer asking “do you have something on you?”.

He did.

And so began 8 months of hell in a Balinese jail.

Fox is here with me today to tell us about his time whilst banged up abroad.

This is the story how Zanelle Ndlovu lost her arm to a croc attack whilst canoeing with her fiancé Jamie Fox on the upper Zambezi at Victoria Falls.

In the wedding photos they look like any other young couple, happy and in love as they take their first steps into a long and blissful marriage. The bride is laughing. Her body wrapped in a spray of pure white lace.

Then your eye is drawn to  the her missing right arm, and the  bandages protecting what is left. This is the story how Zanele Ndlovu lost her arm to a croc attack whilst canoeing with her fiancé Jamie Fox on the upper Zambezi at Victoria Falls, just five days before this happy photo was shot.
